As someone else has said, the NCAA has no control over scheduling. Having said that, I'm kind of with you, but only kind of. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are seemingly always jammed with showcase games. Thursdays...not so much. But, a lot of non power conferences play on Thursdays and I kind of like that they get that night to themselves. I understand the games won't have a mass appeal, but they do have an appeal to me.
the ASun has four teams logjammed at the top, and every conference game feels like it has high stakes because the conference tournament is played on home courts on the higher seed's court.
The Big West has two teams that may end up inside the bubble, but they both need to win out to do it.
The Sun Belt has a 7 round conference tournament this year, and the top eight teams are separated by just two games. It feels for a lot of those teams that one game can make the difference of getting a bye into the semis, or having to win two or three games just to get to the semis.
The CAA isn't quite as fun because their tournament is at a predetermined site, but it's still a league with a lot of parity that's fun to watch.
It seems like six teams all have a legit shot at winning CUSA, and they beat each other up every week. Again, not quite as fun as it would be if the tournament weren't at a neutral site, but still.
Thursday has become the night for those types of games. Selfishly, I kind of like that!"You can't fix stupid." Ron White
