Five players have entered the transfer portal, per wbbblog.com:
Shelby Calhoun
Aanaya Harris
Mackayla Scarlett
Aby Shubert
Kaysia Woods
Mackayla Scarlett (13.2 ppg), the team's leading scorer, is a grad transfer. Calhoun was injured four games into the season (starting one), and didn't play after November. Those two were already mentioned on the board.
Kaysia Woods (7.5 ppg) was on pace to lead the team in three-pointers made before vanishing after 15 games. Aanaya Harris averaged 3 points in 16 minutes per game, and Aby Shubert was a freshman recruited by Mel Moore who didn't see much time.
Their bios have all been deleted from the roster, so looks like it's true. The team has a roster of six at the moment, plus three incoming freshmen.

One incoming transfer so far, and it's another player originally from Spain. We'll have four Spanish players on next year's roster, plus one player each from England, Finland (takes me back to Piipari and Tuukkanen!) and Georgia.
Irune Orio is a 6-2 wing transferring in from Sacramento State. She should have two years of eligibility.

I like that she's 6-2, although I'm not sure she plays much inside. This team desperately needs some height.
She averaged 9.4 points per game last season, shooting 41% from the field, 31% from three and 77% from the FT line. Sacramento State was 6-25 and 4-14 in the Big Sky, but they did go 25-8 in 2022-23 before losing their coach to TCU.

I still maintain Christopher's stance on the women's program is to do his best to pretend it doesn't exist.
Meanwhile, over in Clifton, UC just signed the No. 6 recruit in the nation in the 2025 class, a five-star guard from Purcell Marian.

She chose UC over Ohio State and Illinois, and also had offers from UConn, South Carolina, Iowa, LSU, Southern California, Texas, Notre Dame, Georgia and Virginia Tech.
Mackayla Scarlett, Xavier's leading scorer from last season, has transferred to Providence.Last edited by HomerCecil; 04-18-2024 at 01:36 PM.

Two more additions to the roster.
Petra Oborilova is transferring from Iona, so she'll reunite with Coach Chambers after a year apart. Iona went 11-16, 6-14 MAAC this season. Oborilova, who is from Slovakia, averaged 7 points and 3.7 rebounds this past season. She's a 40% three-point shooter, which is great. 137 of her 185 field-goal attempts were from three, so despite being 6-2, it looks like she is mostly a perimeter player. She only attempted 11 free throws last season. She will have two years of eligibility remaining.
The other addition is a 5-7 freshman guard from Australia. I don't really know what to make of her stats, since the press release uses stats for a team she played with from 2015-2022. It's hard to think a team she played on nine years ago (unless she's an extremely old freshman) would be relevant.

The roster for 2024-25 now stands at 12, with five returning players, one who redshirted (or at least didn't play) last year and six newcomers.Last edited by HomerCecil; 04-25-2024 at 11:08 AM.
