Should one of these glitch victims win one of the categories, the win should be noted with an asterisk by their name. This is fair to the victim so not to overly suffer the failure of technology, but still recognizes the taint of a manufactured score.

I’m fine with it. I’ve had trouble accessing the site all week, but was able to get my score posted in time.

Golf is a relatively simple game, played by reasonably intelligent people, stupidly.

It's a friendly game with nothing on the line other than a little light hearted boasting. I couldn't get in at all yesterday. But, as most here know, I tend to wait until the last minute to get my guess in (for the record it was 86 - 64). I told SW I'm fine with the minimum. If I wind up winning (very unlikely at this point), you can give me all the asterisks you want. What I really want is a couple of sharp shooters and a dominate big that loves rebounding. I think we can all get behind that ;)

Thanks for all the input. I will stand with my proposal. The site last week was very inconsistent. PROFSON: the mean and the medium are both 85. XUMIOH12: I understand your frustration. KABEX is likely the only one who received the default score who may pass you. If he does and if he beats you at the end by less than 8 points in the Big East or YTD standings, it will be noted in the Final Recap. BOBBIEMCGEE: Since I did not include you in the regulars identified earlier, you received the minimum score. You have missed five entries before and therefore will not impact final standings.

Also, in the event that this occurs again, I've set up an emergency email SKYXUHOOPS@GMAIL.COM.

    Here is the DePaul recap.

I had trouble logging in earlier in the year so I was a few minutes late (pick the Jacksonville score thread) and it cost me about 20 points or so. Sometimes the site doesn’t work, it is what it is… appreciate the effort you put into this as I enjoy it. I also put $0.10 on almost everyone’s score on fanduel every game. Next time someone’s score is exactly right I will try and remember to post the winning ticket.

^^^ this. It's a risk you run if you want to wait until the last minute. The pick the score threads are open for days before each game.

What about me wanting to edit my prediction to 86-65 but not being able to get on the site?

The main rule has always been "All entries must be posted on the Xavier Hoops site by scheduled game", and in large bold font no less.

I was hit with the site acting up and being slow for the St John's game, posted 2 minutes after scheduled game time (but several minutes before actual tip off) and took the minimum score. Why couldn't I get the average score for that game? I'd assume it's happened to others throughout the season too. I've been hit with the minimum score many times over the years and have no issue with it since that is the stated rule.

It's whatever, I'm just saying it's been a strict rule without any exceptions for years, and now we make one with just a few games left in the season.

Feel free to run this next year. I will forward you 15 years of spreadsheets. This is for amusement only. Maybe you are taking this little too seriously.

With fifteen years of history, is there a top ten or fifteen list covering that timeframe?
