Reports/rumors that he tore his achilles and practice today. Poor kid can’t catch a break.

Brutal. Feel for him. I wouldn’t put it past him to be back at somepoint next year. I look forward to being part of the standing ovation he receives when he steps back on the court again.

Geezus, really? Typically about 9 months full recovery time which puts him at the start of next season, so without a summer. Brutal for the young man.. hope for a full recovery.

That sucks, obviously. Tough one for Jerome.
Probably adds uncertainty to next year. We all seemed pretty convinced he be back, but this is currently year 5 for him. I wondered if 6 years is just too long to be in college. Same with Free and his foot.
I’d take either of these guys back, healthy next year. Think about this….the portal will be open in about 5 weeks for some teams that have their season ended.
We may not even know what we need when it comes time to find the right guys in the portal.
Hope it’s just a strain??? Get well quick

9 months at least. Probably the worst injury someone who plays basketball could get.
First and foremost, feel terribly for Hunter and wish him a quick as can be full recovery.
With that being said, no way Miller can count on him to make a contribution next year. Anything you maybe get from him would be a bonus but can't count on it."I’m willing to sacrifice everything for this team. I’m going to dive for every loose ball, close out harder on every shot, block out for every rebound. I’m going to play harder than I’ve ever played. And I need you all to follow me." -MB '17

I think this actually makes Sean's job (recruiting) a little easier. Add Free to the list. You simply cant count of these guys for next year considering all of the issues and recurring injuries.

THIS is why I continue to mention stockpiling some legit post players. We are THIN there. And yes, Free is probably still a question mark.
I hope BOTH can make it back next year and be at their best, but this stuff takes a toll physically and mentally. It's an absolute grind to come back from an achilles injury and multiple surgeries. Your legs and feet feeling good are so important for basketball players, and these type of injuries steal your explosiveness and athleticism to the point where you simply never feel like yourself and it screws with your mind.

I fully expect Sean to grab a big in the portal. That said, Ciani has shown marked improvement over just the last few games. I think he is going to be a decent post presence at X. I believe Ousmane has a year left and there is still the Nzeh wildcard. Free could be that big he gets but he may not.
