DEPAUL -6 (L vs. Villanova, L vs. Creighton, L vs. Providence, L vs. Marquette, L vs. Seton Hall, L vs. Xavier)
However, this is what the Big East Tournament would look like if the season ended today:
3/13 FIRST ROUND
(8) Villanova vs. (9) Providence - 4:00 PM ET (FS1)
(7) St. John's vs. (10) Georgetown - 6:30 PM ET (FS1)
(6) Butler vs. (11) DePaul - 9:00 PM ET (FS1)
3/14 QUARTERFINAL ROUND
(1) UConn vs. Villanova/Providence - 12:00 PM ET (FS1)
(4) Seton Hall vs. (5) Xavier - 2:30 PM ET (FS1)
(2) Marquette vs. St. John's/Georgetown - 7:00 PM ET (FS1)
(3) Creighton vs. Butler/DePaul - 9:30 PM ET (FS1)
3/15 SEMIFINAL ROUND
UConn/Villanova/Providence vs. Seton Hall/Xavier - 5:30 PM ET (FOX)
Marquette/St. John's/Georgetown vs. Creighton/Butler/DePaul - 8:00 PM ET (FS1)
3/16 CHAMPIONSHIP - 6:30 PM ET (FOX)
First takeaway is that Xavier dropped back to neutral after losing at home to Creighton. Should they beat Seton Hall on Wednesday, then the Musketeers would actually jump up to the #4 seed ahead of Seton Hall based on a head-to-head sweep. Xavier still has a decent chance at a first-round bye in the tournament which would be huge. A first-round game could potentially result in a Georgetown/DePaul matchup that would do nothing for the team's profile and likely have to go through a death march of Creighton/Marquette/UConn just to win the conference title.

I'd rather finish 5h vs 6th, but I have to say it wouldn't be the worst thing to get a chance at an extra win vs DePaul, and then get a GOOD win against Creighton.
Beating SHU in the 5/4 gamne would be nice, but then you face UConn. Better hope we are in good position already and the SHU win would be enough

Yeah I had wondered if 6th would be better for thew purposes of adding a win, but against DePaul it is such a meaningless win it probably does nothing. They extra W in the win column just looks nicer.
If we beat Creighton we would have had a chance at the 3 seed. With that now happening that is almost nil as they own the tie breaker and we'd have to finish a game ahead of them."I’m willing to sacrifice everything for this team. I’m going to dive for every loose ball, close out harder on every shot, block out for every rebound. I’m going to play harder than I’ve ever played. And I need you all to follow me." -MB '17

6 at least avoids UConn, who we have almost no chance of beating, until the finals if things get hopping. Maybe we'd get lucky and someone else would take them out in the semis.
Talk about getting way ahead of ourselves!

Being in a 4/5 quarterfinal with either Seton Hall, Butler or even Providence would be a much better alternative to playing DePaul/Georgetown in the opening round. Xavier made UConn look invincible for one day, but I wouldn't lose sleep if that ended up being a semifinal matchup.
