VILLANOVA, PA. --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 7-6 overall and 1-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, visit the Villanova University Wildcats, 9-4 overall and 2-0 in the BIG EAST, on Wednesday night. Both teams have been off since Dec. 23.

Xavier is coming off a 74-54 win over Seton Hall on Dec. 23, while Villanova is one of two teams that are 2-0 to start BIG EAST play. Xavier recorded an 88-80 win at Villanova last season.

Thanks! Went ahead and grabbed that this morning. I think that line is probably about right so it’s certainly more heart than head :)

I’m not saying this is a great opportunity. But it’s a good one. Until X can pull off a win it’s not suppose to, the season remains a long shot for the tournament. Nova is a tail of two teams, they can be had. Once we get the first unexpected win, momentum can turn for X.

January is a brutal month schedule wise. If x can just hold on this month and go 4-4 or 5-3, then February/March could be a great payoff.
