    Polls, Rankings and Other Stuff

Just for the heck of it:

    Current NET: 22
    https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2024/net

    Current RPI: 81
    https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2024/rpi-live

Current Bracketology from ESPN: First Four Out
    https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/st...ld-predictions

    Current Ken Pom:38
    https://kenpom.com/

    March Madness Info:
    https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball...schedule-dates

All way too early without enough data.

AI's attempt to answer your question:

    https://iask.ai/?mode=question&options[detail_level]=detailed&q=What+is+the+formula+the+NCAA+uses+to+c alculate+the+NET+for+basketball

I just love the part at the end about Bonus or Penalties. Essentially the old "eye test"...or, what's more commonly known as "We'll put anyone in the tournament we damn well please, and there's nothing you can do about it."

How vague can you be. They can do anything they want with this part of the formula:

    https://iask.ai/?mode=question&options[detail_level]=detailed&q=What+are+the+%22Penalties+and+Bonus%22 +adjustments+in+the+NCAA+basketball+NET+calculatio n

Sorry, guess you have to ask the question noted in the extra verbiage after the highlighted link.

The average weight of a human head is approximately 10 to 11 pounds (4.5 to 5 kilograms)

This is the "and other stuff" part of the thread (let the UC / UD comments commence).

Update info: 11/20/23 (new number is next in line)

    Current NET: 22, 22
    https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2024/net

    Current RPI: 81, 172
    https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2024/rpi-live

Current Bracketology from ESPN: First Four Out, NC
    https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/st...ld-predictions

    Current Ken Pom:38, 31
    https://kenpom.com/

Hah! RPI drops 90. St Mary's is a Quad 4 RPI win, and a Quad 1 NET win.

I don't think the RPI has been used since the Obama administration.

Good point.. But I guess it's a know formula, so he keeps doing it. Interesting how far off the NET it is.
