The plus-minus breakdown through February 12:

Marquette (+5) - W at Villanova, W at St. John's, W at Seton Hall, W at DePaul, W at Georgetown
    XAVIER (+4) - W at Georgetown, W at St. John's, W at Villanova, W at UConn
Providence (+4) - W at Seton Hall, W at Butler, W at DePaul, W at Villanova
Creighton (+3) - W at Butler, W at Georgetown, W at Seton Hall
    UConn (+1) - W at Butler, W at DePaul, W at Georgetown, L vs. St. John's, L vs. Xavier
Seton Hall (0) - W at DePaul, W at Butler, W at St. John's, L vs. Providence, L vs. Marquette, L vs. Creighton
    Villanova (-1) - W at Georgetown, W at St. John's, L vs. Marquette, L vs. Xavier, L vs. Providence
St. John's (-3) - W at UConn, L vs. Xavier, L vs. Marquette, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Seton Hall
Butler (-3) - W at Georgetown, L vs. UConn, L vs. Providence, L vs. Creighton, L vs. Seton Hall

Georgetown (-6) - L vs. Xavier, L vs. Butler, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Creighton, L vs. UConn, L vs. Marquette

Two big games coming up this week to determine who gets to the top - Xavier/Marquette is the big one on Wednesday, but Creighton/Providence on Tuesday night is going to be significant as well. Not very often that the league gets a 1/2 AND a 3/4 matchup in the same week.

So, when we beat Marquette, will there be more of a "That makes up for Butler" mentality, or increased anger/frustration "think where we would be if only beat Buthole and/or if we can beat the Warriors..."

...gladly willing to accept that challenge..

...and my impending reflection session (in hopes that self-imposed sanctions forestall the jack-booted thugs)

Marquette at Creighton is the big one this week. If Marquette wins this, they'll be in the driver's seat for the #1 seed.

Providence also has to go to UConn on Wednesday; Villanova is the potential spoiler with a game at Xavier and at home against Creighton. However, the Wildcats have not beaten anyone in the Top 5 yet.

BE double round robin format makes for interesting tie-breaker procedures. I think it is only used for SEED in tourney. Wouldn't the tied schools be co-champions in regular season and share bragging rights?

    Correct.

With Marquette looking like the apparent Big East winner, Xavier would now have an edge over Creighton in a head-to-head tiebreaker by virtue of a 1-1 record against Marquette should they tie in the standings.
