Thanks for the thread. It's so much harder to hate UC these days when I often almost pity them. This thread will remind me to work up the necessary level of hate this week!

The "rivalry" has become so one-sided that I frankly probably won't even watch the game. It's hard to hate "little brother".

I wish I could be as excited about this game and that this rivalry can get back to being what it once was.

Unfortunately. it just doesn’t feel like there are all the key reasons to get pumped up about beating them as we once had.

    • We are now clearly more talented and expected to win.

    • Their current coach is not as controversial or annoying as past coaches and therefor not as easy to dislike as those previous coaches.

    • They no longer have a roster of players who are getting into trouble with the law or in trouble at school.

    • They just don’t feel like that same villainous “Evil Empire” that needs to be taken down in order to restore the balance of power.

It feels like the Star Wars saga without Darth Vader: The bad guys just aren’t as interesting.

Somehow the WVU game felt much more interesting. I miss that feeling.

What an interesting turn of phrase.

It won't be easy, it never is in their building. I'd be surprised if we won by double digits. They will ugly it up in their gym and get a bunch of calls.
I expect more flops than Fosbury. You're welcome...:)

It's like their Super Bowl. We should take them off the schedule. :)

    .
And to add to that, PDoc is retired, so we don't get the "the Shootout has lost its luster" annual copy and paste.

Saw a stat from the xustatman guy on twitter.

In the last 25 shootout games, 14 have been decided by at least 10 point. 5 by at least 20.

That is a pretty amazing stat to me in what we usually think of as a throw the records out type of close hard fought games always series.

56% of the games are won by double digits in the last quarter century.

I'd venture to guess most of those blowouts were at Cintas.

I can remember maybe 1 or 2 times we got blown out at UC in the last decade?
