I'd personally rather lose in the First Four than win the NIT. Most would disagree with that, and that's fine, but it's not the tournament that matters. I'd rather play a small role in the tournament that matters than win the one that doesn't.

As a fan I actually do appreciate, and even watch, the NIT. You do get some really good games and match-ups that you wouldn't get otherwise. In fact I wish they'd expand it to 64 or even 80 teams. And it is a good opportunity for programs that are trying to build, or that had good years but don't play in major conferences.

But it's not the NCAA Tournament. No one cares. It doesn't even really rise to the level of being an undercard. It's not even the opening act for the big band that everyone came to see. It's the cover band that's playing at the bar down the street from the stadium.

The nit is really effing stupid imo. I compare it to the cheezit meineke car quest flamingo bowl. In other words, who gives a shit. Just my two cents.

Heck of a game, like Kansas State, Jerome Tang did awesome to compile that roster and they play some fun basketball. Almost thought we were about to have another classic Tom Izzo March deep run.

Wisconsin just had it's worst game of the year. In the final 9 minutes they went 0-10FG 0-2FT and had 4 TO. Lost NIT semis game to North Texas. Score 54-56
