    Reds Baseball: 2022 Edition

i guess the Reds deserve their own thread.

Off to a less than rousing start. The COO has proved to be a total douche and is supposedly apologizing to the fans for some comments that no doubt reflected his true feelings.

After losing to the Guardians (?) twice at home, off to the left coast for a bunch of games.

Hoping for some good baseball this season; my goofy little semi-minor league team (the Spartanburgers) lasted all of one year.
Gotta go to Asheville or Greenville now. Ugh.

Let's go Reds! (got to last until BB season starts back up)

The Cincinnati Reds are nothing more than NFL and College football Pre-Preseason now.
We've come a long way since my bench seat at the Fieldhouse!

Sadly, this west road trip will likely end their season before it even started.

As much as the Reds talking heads want you to believe this team can compete, they can’t. The pitching is dreadful again and the lineup is very average. I’d venture to guess this year may be a record for lowest attendance since the new ballpark opened.

In my opinion, I think COVID taught a lot of people that they can actually live without sports. They may not like it, but they can. So now, when determining whether or not to throw money at a sporting event or team, people are much more likely to think about ROI and the Reds don't seem to see that. The NFL makes a LOT of money on TV. Not sure baseball is on that level. I love the Reds, but is that where I am going to spend my sports/entertainment dollar? Gotta say no. Could get very ugly, very quickly.

This year is going to be ugly for the reds. I expected bad, but so far they have exceeded my expectation of awfulness.
