    Zach Freemantle Earns A BIG EAST Conference Honor For The Fifth Time This Season

    Xavier University senior Zach Freemantle has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll after averaging 24.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals in games this past week at DePaul on Jan. 18 and vs. Georgetown on Jan. 21. Freemantle, who shot 59.4 percent (19-32) from the field for the week, tied his career high with 30 points in the Georgetown win to go with 11 rebounds and seven assists.

    This is the fifth time that Freemantle has won a BIG EAST weekly award this season, including his fourth time on the Honor Roll.

    Freemantle is second on the team and 10th in the BIG EAST in scoring at 15.4 ppg. He leads the team and is fourth in the BIG EAST in rebounding at 8.5 rpg.

    Xavier has had an honoree in all 11 weeks of BIG EAST awards this season. Four different Xavier players have been honored at least once this season.

    Colby Jones Named To The BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll

    Xavier University junior Colby Jones was named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll today after averaging 16.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals for road games at UConn on Jan. 25 and at Creighton on Jan. 28. Jones, who leads XU in assists at 5.0 apg. (fourth in the BIG EAST) to go with 14.5 ppg. (15th in the BIG EAST), also earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll this season on Nov. 28.

    Jack Nunge Earns BIG EAST Conference Player Of The Week Award

    Xavier University graduate student Jack Nunge has been named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week for his efforts in wins over No. 17 Providence and St. John's this past week. Nunge, who also won the award on Jan. 2, averaged 22.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 blocks in last week's two wins, shooting 63.0 percent (17-27) for the week, including .778 (7-9) from 3-point range.

    Nunge had a game-high 23 points and a game-high 12 rebounds vs. Providence on Feb. 1 and a game-high 21 points with a Xavier career-high and collegiate career-high tying six assists vs. St. John's on Feb. 4.

    Xavier has had an honoree in all 13 weeks of BIG EAST awards this season, including five BIG EAST Player of the Week winners and eight BIG EAST Honor Roll winners. Four different Xavier players have been honored at least once this season.

    (Colby should have been on the Honor Roll, but they spread the love around.)

    Souley Boum Earns BIG EAST Honors For The Fifth Time This Season

    Souley Boum has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for his efforts in games this past week against Villanova and Seton Hall. This marks the fifth time this season that Boum has been selected for a BIG EAST weekly award, including three Honor Roll selections and two Player of the Week selections.

    Boum averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in games vs. Villanova on Feb. 21 and at Seton Hall on Feb. 24. He shot 52.0 percent (13-25) from the field, including 52.9 percent (9-17) from 3-point range.

    Who keeps tabs or knows who has the most weekly awards? Hopkins, Kokek, and Boum probably make for 60-70% of the BE awards.

    BIG EAST Player of the Week

    Colby Jones, Xavier, G, Jr. – Jones led the Musketeers to a 2-0 week by averaging 24.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists while making 18-of-21 (.857) shots from the field. In a 94-89 victory at Providence, Jones made 10-of-11 shots from the floor en route to a 29-point performance. He also grabbed nine rebounds and dished four assists. Jones had 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting in a 78-66 win against Butler.

    BIG EAST Honor Roll

    Quincy Olivari, Xavier, G, Gr. – In a 1-1 week, averaged 30.5 points and 3.0 rebounds while making 61.1 percent from the field. Had 34 points in a loss to Delaware (87-80) and 27 in a win against Cincinnati (84-79).

    It takes being named Tyler Kolek and beating a Top-15 Texas team. No doubt Q put up great numbers, but had the Musketeers gone 2-0 I think he would have been a no-brainer.
