Of course it is.
1. Theres no guarantee any of the freshman develop into what we think they could.
2. Guys can develop without being starters.
3. You dont pass up talent like Scruggs or Johnson, who already know your system and you know them, for the concern/hope that other guys not as good will get better.
4. You have a legit shot to be a good team with that talent coming back and a tourney team.
Steele can't sacrifice next year for the hope of what might come in 2 years.
1000000000000000% take Nate and Scruggs back all day, everyday."I知 willing to sacrifice everything for this team. I知 going to dive for every loose ball, close out harder on every shot, block out for every rebound. I知 going to play harder than I致e ever played. And I need you all to follow me." -MB '17

If Steele isn't approaching next season as win every game at all costs, he is dumber than even MOR thinks he is. We're also living in the free transfer era. That balance has changed.
This doesn't really matter because Jones and Odom already played huge roles, and Wilcher is primed to play one.

If Scruggs is back, that means Odom or Wilcher time numbers will decrease. Scruggs used to be a deadly threat from 3 point land. His post moves are solid.
If other BE teams have returners like X, won’t X suffer?
We are hoping the other BE teams get worse while X gets better?
