That is stupid. 2 of 45 tests came back positive so they make all student athletes (men's and women's basketball) and Tier 1 staff quarantine for 2 weeks?
SEC football is doing it right. Saban tested positive, but after three negative tests, he was allowed to resume coaching.

Plenty of time for them to make our little party on the 25th, but obviously this shit is not going away any time soon.President of the Eddie Johnson Fan Club

Football and basketball are not quite the same. Football is outside and typically grouped together by positions, while basketball is inside and closed quarters. The actual number of people in quarantine after a positive contact is not that much different. It just happens to be the entire basketball team vs the offensive and defensive lines for example.
It’s also early in the basketball process so they may still change their protocols.

What about a trainer or staff that is in contact with both teams and a player? If both teams are quarantined it would have to be someone in close contact with both teams. Otherwise I’d agree it’s excessive. No reason to think they’d shut both teams down for two men’s positives.
