RIP, Jim Louder

LaSalle High School posted news that former football coach, Jim Louder, passed away today. Louder played linebacker at Xavier in the mid-sixties at XU where he was enshrined in the Legion of Honor. Many of us will remember how well he played for Xavier; and I recall when he tackled UC's big bruising fullback, Clem Turner, in the end zone for a safety in a Muskie win over the Bearcats at Nippert Stadium. The LaSalle article states that Louder played for two years in the AFL with the Boston Patriots. FWIW: Clem Turner also played pro ball for a few years. Condolences to the Louder family including his brother, Dan, who also played football at Xavier.

A good man. It's my understanding he never took a salary from Lasalle and coached for all the right reasons.
