    Basketball tickets

Got an e-mail this morning...no more paper basketball tickets. Everyone must use their smartphones to show their "tickets" this year. Don't know what someone does if they don't have a smartphone, something that described me until last year. Of course who knows whether there will be a season.

There’s gonna be a season. They can’t afford not to.

It won't be their decision. The league decides for them.

They aren't allowing fans who don't have smartphones print them off at home either!

That doesn't make a lot of sense. Don't they just scan the printed ticket?
Are they worried about covid on the tickets in the waste can?
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

First off thanks for the heads up! This MAY be a issue for my 80 year old parents who are season ticket holders.

I agree. I am reasonably certain that they will rethink their policy, and allow people to print their own tickets. This presupposes that they can do this even when there is some convoluted ticket distribution process created by covid policy.

I’ve been thru this with NFL, NHL and MLS games. No paper tickets is a pain in the ass! At a Bills game when Atlanta’s new stadium opened it was a nightmare. You need to have a certain App, then there was something in location services in my phone that wasn’t the way they wanted it. (I don’t think they need to be able to track me all the time, so once inside you need to know how to turn it off.) I had to go to three different Falcons IT people before some guy was able to get it fixed. This isn’t because I’m “Tech illiterate”, their own IT people couldn’t get me in the damn stadium.

Called ticket office. The party line is this change is all about "safety". What a crock of shit! They scan the ticket and throw it away. If they wanted the ticket holder could place the ticket under the scanner and throw it away themselves once admitted to Cintas. No one else would ever need to handle it.

This is not about safety. If this was really about 'safety", there would be no fans, at all. Rather, this is an example of Athletic Dept. arrogance. They have wanted to do this for awhile. Think about it. They change their policy, with ZERO ADVANCE NOTICE, under cover of COVID.

These guys are arrogant douches. F**k them!

Yep. Got the same email. As others have said, there has to be an option for people without smartphones. I wonder if I’ll be able to have both tickets on my phone or if I’ll have to “send” one to my wife’s phone? She won’t like that.

Golf is a relatively simple game, played by reasonably intelligent people, stupidly.
