i thought q played really well in this game. he has so much physical potential. if he can figure out how unlock by the end of the year that'd be a gamechanger.

If you go back and look at past game threads that are long on posts, they are usually filled up with people complaining about the play of the team, individual players, the coaching, or the referees.

In this game, the team scored a season high number of points, kept the opposition to a very low and acceptable number, individual players mostly played well, we got to see a couple of highly anticipated freshmen make their season debuts, the game time coaching was not a factor, and the refs swallowed their whistles.....what’s there left to complain about?

Most be a disappointment for the glass half empty guys.

I noticed same. Q seemed to be more effective at the Two position. There were some limited minutes when he and Tandy were on the floor together with Tandy at P.G. and Q in Scruggs usual spot. Instead of settling for the three, Q took it to the paint. He missed a few and one, in particular, was a pretty wild attempt. But he was more effective and Q penetrating with the ball creates options other than him just making the shot---he can dish or go to the free throw line.

I would have liked to see Tandy get some more minutes at P.G. but, after the game, Steele said he strictly limited his playing time today.

Still, it was Lipscomb so unsure if one can draw too many firm conclusions.

I hope, by general proclamation, the contributors to this board banish the term "Kentucky Jelly", never to be used again. Sounds like a moniker for a porn star.

having kyky as a viable backup will be good for Q. pretty much since edmond got hurt Q has been forced to play practically every minute of every game the last three years. having kyky should take a little pressure off him and give him a chance to play with more energy and focus when he comes back in

Agree with the Q comments. Some encouraging things today. The reason I've been critical of him is the unrealized potential. Maybe it's the scheme or what Travis has had him doing that don't play to his strengths, as has been mentioned in terms of his changing role with Jelly at the point (and I like just 'Jelly' because his is wriggly and jiggly, and there's always room for Jelly - [not the other kind]).

I could be wrong but I imagine this might be where Kentucky Jelly comes from. "Jelly Fam" is a group of kids from Harlem and maybe he was dubbed the Kentucky version of it. Again could be wrong, but have been following this Isiah Washington kid for a while now and first thing I thought of.

What are the three keys to a good jelly?

    Glad you asked:
    a) Hold the ball outward for a split second so it almost looks like you’re going to dunk.
    b) Kick your legs out like MJ.
    c) Put some serious English on the finish.
