I'm starting to agree. I know you don't care and neither do most people, but I'll rant on anyway....

Spending between $6000 and $7000 to go to a country under Sharia law where doing things that most fans like to do can get you executed is not a smart thing to do. If we suck and don't get in, then I won't be tempted to do it.

Before anyone really cared, the team wasn't bad. I'd go so far to say that it was good. Not great like a Final Four team, but good like a Sweet Sixteen team. It was fun while it lasted. It may be fun again some day. But, not now. And, that's fine. It's not worth the aggravation, and certainly not worth the money and time to travel to all these games. So...screw it!

I've never been to either place, and if you want to get technical about it I admittedly don't really know enough to have an informed conversation. What I said was pretty much in jest. We probably won't make it, so I guess it doesn't really matter. I guess I'll study up on what the actual laws are if things turn around. It was still a very bizarre choice to host the WC. Well, it wasn't, because Qatar basically bought it, but if you want to pretend like the process was legit it was a bizarre choice.
