Rose: Baseball Ban Cost Me 100 Million

    Link

"I'm not bitter at all but ... I'm not gonna get on your show or anybody else's show and b**** about not being in the Hall of Fame. I'm the one who screwed up, I'm the one that's gonna live with it. Realistically, guys, me betting on my own team to win — which I did back in the '80s — cost me $100 million. I mean that's what it cost me. Because I'd have been managing the Reds for 30 years at three or four million (dollars) a year. And all the off-field stuff I'd have gotten.

Golf is a relatively simple game, played by reasonably intelligent people, stupidly.

Maybe he's just a really bad gambler.

I like that the he thinks he would have managed for 30 seasons.

Also, his salary being $3-4 million a year for those 30 years. He would have only been paid a million dollars more than the Reds top salary in 1990.

I hope he had better judgment when making his actual bets.

This is the part that cracked me up. I could MAAAAAYBEEEE see how it cost him $100 million. I mean if you add up thirty years of managing, endorsements, and everything else former star players that remain starts after they retire do, then it may actually come out to about that (although I really don't know). But, he would not have been managing the Reds for 30 years. That's pretty funny!

But he would have just gambled it all away.
