The fighting Kelsey’s are playing Duke tonight. Louisville beat WKU to advance to 7-0. Louisville plays Michigan this week. That will be the best team they have played so far by a lot.

DePaul is now 8-0 with three wins away from home.

    Duquesne is also undefeated.

It may be warming here, but it seems hell is getting much colder.

If global warming is real, we'll have to replace about half the Big East in 100 years.

Michigan really rolled through a very solid Battle 4 Atlantis field, I was incredibly impressed, Juwan Howard looks like he knows what he's doing, and they really love playing for him. Wonder what Michigan ends up being ranked, I wouldn't be surprised to see Top 5, which is crazy to me, unranked to top 5. Sheesh. A lot of good match-ups in the ACC/Big 10 challenge.

Phil Martelli is now at Michigan. I think that was a solid hire for an associate head coach.

How did I miss the most important college basketball game of the season a few weeks back? Kentucky Wesleyan vs. Samford. The game featured two former St. Xavier Tiger legends as head coaches: Scott Padgett and Drew Cooper. I actually played in two very intense 7th/8th grade games in which these two were also on the floor, so I know how far back this legendary rivalry goes!

Seriously, though, Padgett is in his 6th season at Samford, and is 4-5 after going 74-92 in his first five seasons. I think Scott's coaching career is about to come to an end.

Samford should be better than what they are. They've got four starters back and weren't bad last year. Somehow they're worse this year and not better.

Samford is also a different kind of place. I think Padgett has until at least whenever it is that his contract runs out. They like him there, even if he's only 74-92.

And after that wonderful binge of exempt tournaments, we've got....practically nothing for the next couple weeks. :/

You could do worse as a first year coach than hiring someone with that amount of experience to help you navigate.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.
