First visit to Fenway - ideas, tips?

I'm headed to Fenway to see Yanks vs Sox in a few weeks. This will be my first trip to Fenway.

Any tips, recommendations etc. for before, during, or after the game?

The North End is awesome. So is the Faneuil Hall area. Great to eat, shop and drink before and after the game.

Take the T to and from unless you walk.
Definitely the North End for great Italian, bring cash.
The Fenway tour is cool if you are a Sox fan.
Go early on game day and enjoy Yawkey Way, Luis Tiant sausage stand is a must.
    Cask n Flagon post game.

Thanks for bringing this up, so much fun!

I've got tickets to one of those games. Tip #1 is to buy my 2 tickets in the CF bleachers for face value.

    My tickets are for Saturday.

My wife spent about 6 months working in Boston a year or two ago. I’d join her for a week here or there. I came to LOVE Faneuil Hall. The food and drink options were awesome. We were lovers of the oyster roast living in Hilton Head when first married. I fell in love with the OYSTER in Faneuil Hall! Plump and juicy! Cold water oysters were an eye opener.

Also fun to go see the Harvard area, the commons, etc, but never could get tix to Fenway without too much bother.

    Walk the Freedom Trail.
It's time for a bourbon on the rocks!

Took my boys on a baseball vacation late 80's. Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, NYC for Yanks and Mets, then Boston. Parked the car and took the the T everywhere, Commons, Faneuil Hall, Harvard Square and of course Fenway. Saw the Boston Pops. My wife made us hit all the Museums en route, which I have to say, was great also. Great town to eat. Had lunch @ Cheers. Taught my kid how to drive on the way home.

Go to Neptune Oyster in the North End for the best lobster roll you will ever eat (must wait in line to enter because no reservations). Go to Island Creek Oyster, near Fenway, before the game for a fabulous oyster experience (reservations accepted here and probably a must on game nights). Go to the Isabella Stewart Museum, also near Fenway, for an incredible and unique museum/home experience (reserve tickets ahead of time). And whatever you do, DO NOT root for the EVIL EMPIRE while in Fenway.

Xavier always goes to the NCAA tournament...Projecting anything less than that this season feels like folly--Eamonn Brennan, ESPN (Summer Shootaround, 2012)
