Virtual Deadlock in our latest poll
"He's a little bit ball-dominant, he needs to have the ball in his hands, and he's not a good shooter." Ball-dominant … isn't that a nice way of calling someone a ball hog? Where is my Jay Bilas Thesaurus?

I posted this in that thread:
Farr leading has to be a case of recency bias. I love Farr but can't believe he is winning this right now.
Career numbers:
Thornton: 10.8 pts, 5.6 rebs, 1 assist, 1 block, 56.7 FG%, 71.0 FT%
Farr: 5.9 pts, 5.2 rebs, 0.3 assists, 0.7 block, 50.2 FG%, 65.2 FT%
Last year:
Thornton: 15.3 pts, 6.8 rebs, 1.5 assists, 2 blocks, 64.0 FG%, 69.6 FT%
Farr: 10.7 pts, 7.8 rebs, 0.6 assits, 1 block 54.5 FG%, 72.8 FT%"I’m willing to sacrifice everything for this team. I’m going to dive for every loose ball, close out harder on every shot, block out for every rebound. I’m going to play harder than I’ve ever played. And I need you all to follow me." -MB '17

Hurts Thornton that the teams he played on were shitty. Same reason Semaj doesn't have much of a legacy.

Yeah, that probably does hurt Thornton. I think it is also fair to say X had more scoring options when Farr was playing. He likely would have had more points per game (especially his senior year) if not for Bluiett, Davis, Summer, Reynolds, Macura, Abell all being on the team.
I will admit I have a soft spot for Farr. I just think how hard Farr worked and how much he improved from freshman year to his senior year (plus his incredible attitude) made him one of those great stories we love to see at X. He is a favorite of mine for sure.
Still, I don’t know if that is enough evidence to suggest he deserves best player to wear #2 at X over Thornton. Thornton was indeed a special player too.

I worked at LaRosa's as a driver when Thornton was at X. I delivered to him many times and he always tipped. After he got hurt another (unnamed) player would meet me at the door to pick up Brian's food. He never tipped.
It is that easy to buy my vote. I should run for Cincinnati City Council. No, I be concubining.

I expected recenty bias to make this a clear win for James Farr. I have the privlege of knowing the Thornton family, and Brian. He was a class act as a player and is a class act as a person. One of my saddest memories at X is when he got injured.
