New Xavier Golf Coach - Brian Arlinghaus

Had a wonderful conversation with new Xavier Men’s Golf Coach Brian Arlinghaus today and welcomed him warmly.
Coach was most recently Head Coach of the Wright State Men’s team. His Raiders team won the Horizon League Championship in 2019 and finished 2nd this past season. Brian has NCAA coaching experience and is also a psychologist, which is Damn important in this game.
Coach is absolutely determined to get X back on top of the Big East annually and acknowledged that Xavier has the physical tools to do it with the beautiful workout/practice facility and partnership with Maketewah CC and being located in a city with probably the best weather in the BE.
I can’t wait to see the magic that Coach Brian is going to work. He is determined to recruit kids like we used to get under Doug Steiner- kids that love and live the game and will work at it. Can’t say that has been the case recently.
Welcome Coach!! Best of Luck and #Birdies!

    This is good news.

As you noted, with our facilities, there is no excuse for not producing winning teams.

I know of some other sports that could often use a psychologist as a head coach.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

I reached out to Coach and invited him to lunch here at Dana's. I couldn't have been more impressed with him. Looking forward to the turnaround!!!

I definitely brought that up. HA

He said he's catching way more flack by deciding to coach at X from his UD/UC/WSU friends.
