Xavier's women are in last (10th) in the East Lansing Regional after day 1, but they're only 5 shots behind sixth place Campbell (top 6 advance). The ladies will need a big day today to stay in the hunt. Final round on Wednesday.

Are you sure 10th is last? I could have sworn there were 18 teams in the regional.

That's possible. I just looked at the link below and they only listed 10 teams. Perhaps they excluded 8 teams they deem out of it.

Here's a question the answer to which should become obvious as the day goes on, but for now is a mystery to me: Xavier has 5 players in this event. Clearly, the top 4 scores count, because the five ladies were E, +1, +4, +6 and +11, respectively, yesterday. However, are those cumulative top 4 scores or daily top 4 scores? Say Morgan Tinsley turns in an even par round today after yesterday's +11. Is that a separate score for today that will count as part of Xavier's round two score, or will her score only start to count if, say, Lyndsay Hunnell shoots another +6 to get to +12 for the two days?

Each round starts the new quest for the top 4 scores

Thanks! Good to know. Certainly makes it more interesting for a player like Tinsley who had a high score yesterday. If you stopped play right now, Xavier wouldn't advance, but they would finish in a tie with fourth ranked Stanford.

Team didn't do so good, but Mikayla Fitzpatrick finished at even par for the three days, in 6th place. One assumes she qualified for the NCAA finals. Finished STRONG with three straight birdies for a 33 on the back and -1 overall on the day.
