What a disaterous weekend. Had a lead late in all 3 games, had it down to the final out in two of them with a lead, and wound up blowing all of them.
Wow. That is a slam to the confidence.

Big East home opener against Georgetown is live on BEDN this afternoon. Hoyas plated one run in the top of the 1st; X now up to bat.

I predict that Xavier scores a lot of runs today. And all weekend.

Right on cue, X takes a 3-1 lead on a 3-run dinger in the bottom of the 2nd.

And as expected, St. John's won their opener as well.

Must be bad weather expected Sunday - tomorrow will now be a DH starting at noon at Hayden Field with the Hoyas.

2-0 in the Big East. Get out the brooms for game 3 in about 30 minutes.

Scoreless tie at the 7th inning stretch - Conor Grammes has 16 strikeouts through 7. Unreal.

And Allbry Major hit a game-winning RBI double to complete the sweep of Georgetown.

Xavier will be the sole Big East leader after St. John's lost at Butler in the first game of their DH today.

Just need to dominate Villanova, and we're probably good for making the Big East Tournament.
