Creighton and Xavier are actually tied for first now - that's where having a game cancelled against Butler will hurt the Muskies now. If both X and Creighton sweep Villanova (or even just win 2 of 3 each), all it would take from Creighton to win the regular season would be a series victory against St. John's. If for whatever reason Creighton has a game cancelled and ends the regular season tied with X, Xavier wins the tiebreaker via head-to-head.

Any projections on what days we will be playing in the BE Tournament?

The Big East Tournament is Thursday-Sunday, and if Xavier plays in it, they're guaranteed to play both Thursday and Friday. On Thursday and Friday there is one game in the afternoon, and one game at night. Which of those games Xavier plays in won't be determined until after the regular season is over.

The Saturday game is an elimination game of the one-loss teams, and the winner of that advances to Sunday, where they would have to win two games to win the tournament.

    Thanks!

Wtf, so technically there's still a chance for the NCAA Tournament??

Of course - Xavier would get the auto bid by winning the Big East Tournament. We're just pointing out that there's a one-in-a-million chance that Xavier could still miss the Big East Tournament by getting swept by Villanova this upcoming weekend, but even then a lot more things would have to fall into place.

The more likely outcome is either a #1 or #2 regular season matchup, but the difference would be either a first round matchup with Seton Hall (a team that beat Xavier 2 out of 3 this weekend) or St. John's/Georgetown where Xavier won the head-to-head already.

Xavier had a 6-2 lead at Nova but gave it all back in the 6th inning. Now 6-6 in the 7th.

7-6 lead to the 9th. Xavier is three outs a way from clinching a spot in the Big East Tournament (though they're almost certain to get in even if Nova sweeps them).

Flamm gets the save and Xavier officially locked into the Big East tournament in 2 weeks.

FWIW, Creighton also hosting St. John's later tonight. Not only are the Bluejays looking to keep pace with Xavier, St. John's is going to be desperate for a series win this weekend because they are by no means guaranteed to finish Top 4 right now.
