Men's Team faces Pivotal Match against Butler on 10/31

    Link

Xavier men's soccer hosts Butler to wrap up the regular season on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in what will be a pivotal match at XU Soccer Complex.

The Musketeers rebounded from a five-match losing streak with a crucial road win at Seton Hall on Saturday, improving to 5-7-5 overall and 3-4-1 in BIG EAST action. The result pushed Xavier into sixth-place with 10 points and one match to play in the regular season.

With a win on Wednesday, XU will guarantee itself a spot in the upcoming BIG EAST Championships for the sixth straight season.

Butler enters the match at 4-11-2 overall and 2-6 in the BIG EAST. The Bulldogs have lost two straight.

No idea what happened to the guys in that 5 game losing streak, were there injuries or anything?? Hopefully they get the win and can make a magical Big East tournament run, but unfortunate for what seemed like such a promising season.

The team was severely injured, with several starters missing significant chunks of time throughout the season. However, tonight's match against Butler is a "win and in" situation, and the Musketeers can get as high as the 5 seed in the conference tournament.

Ahh that's unfortunate, poor kids, hate to see that, hopefully they get it done tonight, and get into the conference tournament and string together some results, because when healthy, this team was very sharp.

They beat Butler 5-3 and now move on to the Big East tournament.

Women's soccer also got their first-ever win in the Big East Tournament back on Sunday and now travel to top-seeded Georgetown for their next match.

Good on the soccer programs, hopefully the women can shock Georgetown, and the guys can get it together and put together a run and grab some NCAA bids!! Good stuff from Coach Flemming to bounce back through the adversity of the season.

Are the men healthy now? Marquette got us so this would be a bit of revenge.

Comparing the rosters from the Kentucky game, Nelson isn't starting in goal, Cameron Taylor isn't starting on defense (looks like we went to a 3 back), but the rest match up.
