guys - not taking away from the fact that they deserve it, but as 2 way players they always technically get a roster spot. NBA rosters can hold up to 15 players PLUS any 2-way players. doesn't mean they're permanently with the nba team. JP making the opening night roster just means that he didn't get cut, which can happen to 2-way players.
Tre is in an interesting situation as the Pels are one of the NBA teams remaining that don't have their own G-League team. Their 2 way players usually play on other teams, but haven't heard about where Tre landed

The Pels cut two players on Saturday, so Bluiett is still on the 16 man roster for the opener. Pels play Gary Clark and the Houston Rockets. (Clark is also a two-way on the 16 man roster.)
NBA teams have a little bit of flex at the end of their bench in that these two way guys can basically get some looks in the first games before the G League begins in November. There's a good chance they get sent down and the team then gives those spots to some vet willing to take a 10-day contract again and again.
The good news for 4-year college players like Bluiett and Macura is they are already experienced enough that their team might not be as hesitant to call on them over a short term contract player. But that said them staying in playing shape at the G League isn't the worst thing if they get called up later.

Tre is on the bench tonight but in street clothes. Hey, he has nice seats!
