Not quite....it only seems that way sometimes.
When I said country, I ment “out in the sticks”. Out in Pendleton county, not in any of the towns within the county. Our son moved into the old home place (my father in law built it upon coming back from WWII and lived there the rest of his life) when he got out of the USAF and we moved up to the southern outskirts of Cincinnati (10 mins to downtown). He just moved to Florence and I’m cleaning and painting it now so that we can sell it in the Spring. Sits on 4 acres that were part of the original 300 acre farm that my mother in law was born on. Land has been in my wife’s family for at least 5 generations. Going to be hard to sell it for my wife. We were married in the church out there that my wife grew up in. I’m a deacon there and she plays the piano/organ every Sunday.

Allen is taking unofficial visits to UK and UL the first couple weeks in August. We'll see if he picks up a UK offer by then- assuming they offer him on his unofficial.

After looking at chatter about Dontaie after the Under Armour tournament, I saw a tweet of top performers he was on and noticed a second name on the list - Devin Butts. After tournament, kid got a scholarship offer from X and has interest. He’s from Georgia so sure Coach Hayes has been scouting him. Based off some accounts, he is 3 star recruit but not ranked anywhere. After watching a little video, I was impressed with his ability to shoot and pass off the dribble. Very surprised on the lack of ranking and other offers. X and Houston were only majors.
Does anyone from the Georgia area know anything about this kid? Looks like he comes from good pedigree as his father played at Texas Tech and was second leading scorer.

I really hope that Donte comes to X. I think that he will be a great fit for both the B.B. team and the school and will really enjoy his time there. It would be real fun for my wife and I t watch a local kid playing against the BE teams on national TV. It would be real big for the community too. I’m afraid that at UK he would be just another player. But at X he can be a star.

Yeah but he'd still get a lot of exposure at UK, a more storied program, and probably a better chance to the NBA. I love X as much as everyone else here, but until we get more guys in the league and get a reputation for developing current NBA players, there's still going to be a bunch of kids who rather go to UK. Especially ones from Kentucky.

That’s a solid point. You can ask 85% of the people who grew up in KY who their favorite team is, and they will say UK (the other 15% grew up on Loserville). It doesn’t matter if they went to another college instate or out of state, or where they now live. Love of UK is ingrained through the generations and runs deep. I can’t imagine an instate kid ever turning down a BB scholarship offer from UK and going anywhere else (other than UL). I’m sure it’s happened before, but it would something extremely rare. There is also somewhat of a bias AGAINST Ohio and Indiana on the part of many within the state. But strangely enough, there has always seemed to be solid respect and even like for Xavier on the part of many people around the state, especially from within the area known as the “Golden Triangle” (NKY-Lexington-Louisville). I’ve heard many residents of Pendleton Co. express that they hope that if he doesn’t go to UK, that they hope he goes to X. They want to be able to go watch him play in person and don’t much care for UC or UL.
