Games thread for Saturday 2/24/18
I figured I would start a thread for anyone who wanted to discuss any games today since X is off.
I will start off by saying I found it interesting on who was favored today in a couple Big East games.
Georgetown favored by 1.5 vs Providence
Saint John's favored by 2.5 vs Seton Hall
Two teams projected to be in the tournament as underdogs on the road against 2 of the bottom teams in the Big East.
That shows the depth this league has now as both Saint John's and Georgetown have come a long way from the start of the season.2014 RTS National Champion $200,000 (2460 teams) 2015 RTS 2nd Place $25,000 (3120 teams)
2012 NFFC National Champion $100,000 (1872 teams) 2015/2018 NCAA Bracketology 351/362 pts

Rooting for Texas Tech today. Xavier's hold on the #3 overall seed and even a #1 seed at all not only depends on X winning but how teams like Kansas and Michigan State do. Northwestern screwed things up blowing that 27 point lead.

I still think we're a bit ahead of Kansas and Michigan State for the 3 overall seed, but we just have to take care of business, and win out until the Big East Championship, and see what happens there. Granted, I don't mind Kansas and Michigan State losing more, it helps us out. But I think we're okay in terms of locking up a one seed, I for one would love to see us get 3rd overall, but 4th wouldn't be so terrible of a consolation. Just have to play good basketball, and keep gelling, and peak it out in March like we're used to seeing. That being said if Creighton, Pitt, and Texas Tech wanted to play lights out today, I wouldn't be opposed.

I mean does it really make a difference if we are a 1 or a 2? Regardless x is going to be playjng close to home and after the first round, going to have to play good teams from then on.

Makes a difference. 7/10 beats a 2 much more than an 8/9 beats a 1 we learned that first hand against Wisconsin. Also a 16 has never beat a 1 while a 15 has beat a 2 eight times.
Bucknell isn't a terrible team that could be a 15 seed threat this year. Their team is much better than their paper they have their top 9 guys back from a team that made the tournament last year and did well for a while. Not sure what their deal was this year losing the games they did but they have talent to beat a 2 seed.
Records seed vs seed
1 seed vs 8/9 = 135-24 (85%)
2 seed vs 7/10 = 100-49 (67%)Last edited by HenryMuto; 02-24-2018 at 12:59 PM.

Meh to each their own I guess. Worrying about a 15 to me is ridiculous...going to have to beat good teams along the way and particularly this year, all I really care about is who are the other top 4 seeds in our bracket...i think that is way more important then if we are a 1 or 2.
