I wouldn't be surprised to see him put up 10 a game for the rest of his career, I think he has the weapons to be a decent enough scorer, hopefully has some confidence in his shot, and has matured during the off-season. I'd love to see him have a Farr like jump this year!!

Again--Thobe and I did not play 4 years. Freshmen had to play on Freshmen team. Our 3 year average combined 15.5 pts per game. Realize in our time no 3 pt shot, no shot clock and only 25-26 games per year. Both Jack and I could bury shots from outside. Dare say what our averages and total pts. would of been-
Again..I rest my case -

I guess that says something about how times have changed. I was no longer in Cincinnati and I’d check out USA Today to catch scores or catch a sentence or two about my teams. NOW? You can watch every game and get all the info you want on-line and we never get confused with Xavier from New Orleans in a box score!
Back then it was easy to miss out on a lot of things.

I'm pretty sure the point total is for the time they played together, points scored while on the team at the same time. Only those points that they made while on the team together count.
I hope I made my pointI don't always drink beer, but when I do, I drink 2XS.

34 - DEXTER BAILEY, 1,139
I want to give a shout out to Dexter Bailey.
Nobody on this board ever talks about Dexter Bailey. I feel that he is unloved. I want to give him some love.
If anyone has some Dexter Bailey stories, let the love flow.
It is an injustice that he is so ignored. DEX! DEX! DEX!RIP Brian Dargin McCormick

DEXTER BAILEY ’84
An impact player during his Musketeer days, Dexter Bailey is now making another kind of impact—helping match workers with companies that need their services. And the journey has taken some unexpected turns. A high school star in suburban Cincinnati, Bailey arrived at the University in 1980 during a rebuilding period. “The first year we didn’t win many games,” he recalls. “The second year I think we won only eight. My junior year we turned it around and went to the NCAA Tournament.”
A small forward, Bailey scored 1,139 points at Xavier and was drafted by the Denver Nuggets of the NBA. But he didn’t make the team and, after a period of reflection, decided to join former teammate Jeff Jenkins playing in South America. For the next 11 seasons, he played for Sunchales in Santa Fe, Argentina. During the off-seasons, he played in Chile.
But by the mid-1990s Bailey was looking for a career change. He started working for a staffing franchise, moving up through the ranks and eventually becoming president. He and his wife now have four offices in Greater Cincinnati and are in the process of breaking away to start their own company, ASD Staffing.
“I embrace the future,” Bailey says. “It’s exciting. We provide jobs for the community and help companies get their products out.”RIP Brian Dargin McCormick

3 - ROMAIN SATO, 2,005
Amazing to look at this list.
As a senior, Romain Sato averaged 8 rebounds a game. You look at the points presented above with respect, and you should. But Jesus Christ, that man got 8 rebounds a game playing at the 2 guard. The kid was off the hook. One of the most underrated Muskies of all time. He scored, he rebounded, he did everything but make my bed. And he could probably do that better than I could, because everything he did was top notch. Brought us to our first ELITE EIGHT.
What an amazing man. Not as good as DEX mind you, but Sato was incredible.RIP Brian Dargin McCormick

7 - ANTHONY HICKS, 1,805
ANTHONY HICKS ('83) --- 1988 Inductee --- First student-athlete ever selected in first year of eligibility; lettered four years in basketball. Three-time Team MVP. Member of the Xavier 1,000-Point Club.
One local paper wrote that, "As Hicks goes, so goes Xavier." And Hicks led Xavier basketball back to respectability.
During Hicks' time as a Musketeer, Xavier reached numerous milestones. XU captured its first conference title ever (1981) and its first conference tournament title ever (1983). XU reached the 20-win plateau (22-8 in 1983) for the first time since 1957, reached non-conference post-season tournament play (1983) for the first time since 1963, and reached the NCAA Tournament (1983) for the first time since 1961.
Hicks finished his career as Xavier's all-time leading scorer with 1,805 career points, he currently ranks seventh. Hicks ranks second all-time for career steals (226) and stands eighth on the XU all-time assist chart (466).
The Hicks' stat report bears repeating. He led XU in scoring three seasons: 16.7 (1981), 20.4 (1982), and 14.9 (1983). He led XU in assists three seasons: 109 (1981), 121 (1982), and 121 (1983). And he led XU in steals all four seasons: 54 (1980), 58 (1981), 60 (1982), and 54 (1983).RIP Brian Dargin McCormick
