Does that guarantee him at least the D-League money for the year?

10-26-2017, 10:49 AM #17The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly adding Josh Smith even though he hasn't played in a regular-season NBA game since 2015-16.
On Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reported "Smith plans to sign with New Orleans under an injury hardship exception."
According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, New Orleans is able to use the exception because Smith's contract is non-guaranteed compared to the guaranteed deal Jameer Nelson signed with the team.

Lol and I thought the Browns were the dumbest front office around.. Jordan will be lighting it up somewhere soon, I have zero doubts about that.

Ok, to make sure I have this right. He got cut because he had a non-guaranteed contract, and they needed a PG due to injury problems, and that in turn became Jameer on a guaranteed deal. Then they got an exemption to a rule to add a player temporarily, and that became Josh Smith? Not Crawford? Was this a position need? Or just the reality that smith will only hang around until they get an injured player back?
What’s next for Crawford now? Did I get this right?
Drafted by Nets, traded immediately to hawks. Plays about 1 year for each of Hawks, wiz, Celts, and then a shorter stint with GSW, and another now with NO. What a weird career. Will he stick somewhere? First big injury and Crawford is in the rotation somewhere.
How about the Celts again?
