It's his defense that might hold him back. He's played about 1/3rd of his games at 2B this year, and 2/3rds at 3B including all of his AAA games. Last year was around 50/50.
His 2B fielding percentage would put him around the middle of the pack(if not a little lower).
His 3B fielding percentage is awful. Of 22 qualified major leaguers, the lowest fielding percentage is 0.941. Rylan is at 0.917 for the year and 0.915 for his career.
If he can improve his defense, he looks like he'll have the offense to make the league.

Bannon also started his spring with the big club. He's played in all three games so far and is 2-5 with a double.

Geez, not the year to be a former Muskie in the Orioles organization. Just saw that Bannon is hitting .152 with five HRs 132 ABs into his season at AAA Norfolk. As a 25 year-old 8th rounder non-prospect, I suspect he's on the edge of being released at this point.

Bannon is hitting .133 now. 20 for 150. That's hard to do. When they sent him to single-A Aberdeen for a rehab assignment he was 1-20 with a HR. .050 batting average.

Hopefully this isn't too late to salvage Rylan's career!
