Its funny you mention that. Because I remember a few years ago (4?) I asked Mack during his radio show why he never ran a zone. I believe it wasn't until Kris Dunn that he was eventually forced to experiment with zones.

That is exactly right. At a game that I attended in Providence 3 years ago. We stunk it up the first half, then Mack went to a second half zone. We came back to make it an overtime game, lost, but the Zone became a fixture...and expanded upon.

The longer you coach, the better you get.

I think that CMack has thought about that for 365 days since the end of the Wisconsin game, when the ball never left Ed's hands. We had Jalen Reynolds who would have done the same thing.....only dunked the Sheet out of it. When they had another chance this year....there it was. #BrilliantTimesTwo

One last point.

I have had a lot of fun with the "Desert Raccoon" thing with Sean Miller. That is now over and done.

The class and legitimate warmth that Sean showed after a tough loss- meeting the Xavier players on the court and encouraging them was one of the most wonderful things I have ever seen a guy do when he was obviously hurting after seeing his season end.

Thank you Sean, and good luck getting to that Final Four. Great stuff.
