When Pub laws are put on the books, doctors will flinch and delay to make sure they aren't breaking them. Delays can and will inevitably cause problems. Abortion should absolutely be legal. The best way to limit elective abortions is to give women hope that having the child is the best choice.

XUBREW, I am exactly the same way. I really only know the parts of the world I have travelled and those that I watch Cup qualifying.
your state currently has a federal abortion ban on the ballot? Thats interesting. Your opinion is that abortion should be legal, ok. Good to know you are fine with electively killing babies. your sentence after that is hysterical.

I wrote the issue is on the ballot. Which it is, Prop 139 making it a constitutional right to have abortion available. Remember, local Pubs ignited this when they revived the Territorial ban from the late 1800s.

You projected what you wanted to read in my post. It will be a local and national issue as long as they keep appearing in court cases and appearing on ballots in either direction.

Your "prickness" is a real talent. There are very positive programs that convince moms to go full term.....making it possible for moms to see a beating heart ultrasound is key.

The real solution is FREE BIRTH CONTROL and FREE DAY AFTER PILL. Why is this not the overwhelming solution?

You are really slow my man. I know there are a ton of programs, that’s why I thought Arizona’s comment was hysterical. 1.) that he implied there aren’t those things and 2.) to think it makes much of a difference for the people who want to get abortions. I don’t think the roi for those programs are there, not in today’s society.

I projected? You replied off my quote that was talking about a federal abortion ban.

Yes there are state laws being voted on. We all know that. What dem politicians are lying about is that republicans want a federal ban on abortion. It’s not true, but the dems are using the illusion of it as fear, and thus votes.

No, you clearly suggested his optimism in changing the moms decision options were "hysterical".

The only way to reduce the abortion numbers is the obvious preventative solutions I posted. Why is this not being 100% of the discussion?

This solution is brilliant. Abortions may/would assuredly drop, and it falls short of the type of behavior control (proven when shaming language is used regarding sexual behavior) that comes from the extreme right.

To XVILLE, until abortion propositions fall off state ballots and cases stop being heard in appellate courts abortion will be at the forefront of campaigns. Half the voting population are women, this affects a large percentage of them. They are going to have strong opinions because of that.

That would imply that just because they have birth control, they would use it and use it properly.

Also the age old question, who is paying for it and how

The cost would be lower than hospital Tylenol. The Abortion industry is nothing more than an abhorrent cash industry.

Do what? Birth control is something you have to take everyday, every month and it costs way more than Tylenol. Plan b costs way more than Tylenol. Btw how much you think heath plans would cost if Tylenol was “free.” Some health plans cover the cost, but that cost comes from somewhere. Wanna guess who? it also has some not so great side effects. Some women can’t even take it. And there’s that pesky thing of a whole lot of parents not exactly liking the idea of their daughter being on birth control, so how is that overcome?

If it was such an easy solution, it’d be done.
