I was going to respond, and then it occurred to me that you can't have been aware of the years since 2015.
Really, if you go back through my comments in the thread, you'll find a lot of answers to your question, especially around January 6th.
Since then he's been indicted multiple times, in multiple jurisdictions (state and federal), been convicted of 34 felonies, and had his SC buddies give him a big boost with an immunity ruling that would allow him to run roughshod if he gets back in. The fact that so many highly regarded Republicans agree with me should give you pause for concern.

A better question would be how can you vote for a convicted criminal, serial liar, and sexual abuser to be president of our country?
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

The issue seems to be that Trump's supporters that are on the fringe are the minority of the GOP (perhaps by quite a bit), but there are still enough of them to where the GOP needs them to win elections. If they don't back Trump, they'll lose the votes of those on the fringe. That's...well...not fortunate.

Does the fact that he's trying to claim the election was stolen when it wasn't, and making phone calls asking for them to "find votes," and trying to disrupt the certification in the hopes of having the election declared technically invalid a concern for you?? Maybe he can't legitimately threaten Democracy, but the fact that he's made the attempts that he has should be a disqualifier to anyone who actually values Democracy.

I hate to make a comparison to sports, but if some lunatic AD tries to threaten whoever it is that's working the scoreboard so that it shows his team wins regardless of what actually happened during the game, and then tries to declare that his team did win when it didn't, this person may not be a legitimate threat to athletics, but it's still someone that clearly has no business ever being in athletics again. That's how I kind of look at Trump and the bullshit he tried to pull the last time.

Happy to see Trump come out yesterday in favor of the Florida abortion referendum and requiring insurance to cover IVF treatment. Would love to see the Democrats bring forward bills on both of those issues to see if the rest of the Republican caucus is going to follow his lead.

Saying trump is a threat to democracy is the same as saying that about Harris. They both could be, but they aren’t because of the way our government is set up thankfully.

Harris communist proposals are just as scary as anything trump would do.

    This is my point.

Brew- I'm looking at it in the literal sense that people have been clinging to for years. It's completely ridiculous.

January 6th was an abomination, but at no point was our Democracy in peril. People got what they deserved and at no time was our system of government hanging in the balance. Making efforts to overturn an election is a disgrace, but it didn't happen. Wonder why? We have measures in place to stop things like that and they worked. The only real threat to our democracy would have to happen militarily via a foreign invasion or a coup..last time I checked that's not on the table. No single person can threaten our democracy and to think otherwise is ridiculous. This 'threat to democracy' narrative is soooo lazy.

Nothing you bring up (as usual) supports Donald Trump being a threat to Democracy. What does being indicted have to to with destroying our system of government? Immunity from prosecution does not give him or anyone else the ability to destroy our Democracy. Do you not believe that we have the necessary checks and balances in place to prevent the overthrow of our Government? We do.

To your last question: I'm not sure who I'm voting for or if I'm voting at all. The choices are gross. I'm not sure where you got the notion that I'm voting for Trump. Calling you out on being a partisan hack incapable of recognizing or admitting the flaws on both sides of the aisle doesn't make me a Trump supporter....far from it.

Now let's do you: I assume you voted for Biden (serial liar and accused sexual abuser) Bill Clinton (proven sexual abuser and serial liar) and Hillary (never convicted but let's be real about her being a criminal)? If that's the case and these things are so near and dear to your soul, how can you live with yourself?

People who claim moral high ground and then dig their heels in so deep on one side of the political spectrum absolutely fascinate me.

I find it amusing you are "happy' to see trump support the liberal view after he was pounding his chest when he got rid of ROE. The evangelicals are 83% opposed to this bill. Will he lose any votes there or will they all be hipocrites and vote for him anyway.
