Glen Greenwald blew the cover on the Feds role in 1/6 two months ago, so Tucker is not exactly breaking new ground here.

I'm posting this in the Politics Thread vs. the COVID thread, because it's more about COVID policy...

In the last quarter of a year, the US has seen over 107K all-cause excess deaths in seniors age 65+. Compare this to the same period in 2020 when the US saw over 58K excess deaths for that same age cohort. A year-over-year increase of 85%. In 2020, 0% of that group were vaccinated. This year over 98% have now received at least one shot.

One (or a combination) of these things is happening:
    1) The vaccines aren't working.
    2) The vaccines are causing the increased all-cause mortality.
    3) These deaths are attributable to COVID response (lockdowns, induced fear, etc.).
    4) Some other explanation?

    Thoughts?

Would be interesting if you could provide a link.
Here is a graph from the CDC showing exactly the opposite.
Go to the link below, go down a bit, and select the "weekly number of deaths by age."
    Then select "update dashboard."
(Scroll down a bit for the graphs)
Deaths of older people were dramatically higher than the 6 year baseline, for 2020 in the last quarter. (Red line)
They are almost back to the norm. (Orange line)
I would note that this quarter is not yet over yet for 2021.

Daily Beast called him “a practitioner of manufactured controversy” for Fox news. Probably why the "story" gained no traction, except, of course with trump supporters.

The CDC is the source, but I'm referring to deaths from all causes (not just Covid). In your dataset, select "excess deaths with and without COVID-19" and check just the age 65+ bands and you'll see the big increase from 2020 the last ~15 weeks. It's true especially for 65-74 and 75-84. Remember too the death data lag, so those last few weeks that seem to show a drop-off will increase.

In all the selections I make, excess deaths are down versus last year in the elderly.
Not sure how you are getting what you refer to.

So when you take the steps I list above, you don't see the marked increase in all cause excess deaths in 2021 vs 2020 (and prior years) from weeks 32 though 43?

Wow, great for the WTA. I didn’t think they would have the guts to do it, but good on them for showing more balls than the rest of the pro sports leagues. Happy to see someone risk sacrificing profit in the name of doing what is right.

In related news, Lebron threw himself on the ground in agony in the hope of getting an offensive foul called on the WTA.

    Well done WTA.
