    Link

Xavier women's soccer's match against Northern Kentucky University scheduled for Tuesday, September 6th has been moved to NKU Soccer Stadium on the campus of NKU in Highland Heights, Ky., due to recent flooding at XU Soccer Complex.

NKU will assume the role of home team for the match, which will now be played at 7:00 p.m. instead of the previously scheduled 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 for general admission and $3.00 for children ages 6-18 as well as students with a valid ID. Parking is also $5.00. Gates to NKU Soccer Stadium open an hour prior to first kick.

The XU women started out sluggish and continued that way throughout the entire first half. NKU won just about every 50/50 ball and lead 1-0 at the half. It looked liked XU was playing in a trap game after beating Dayton 3-1 the other day but that wouldn't be fair to NKU because they are a very very solid team. XU came out ready to play in the second half and scored in the first 15 minutes. Both teams seemed to settle down and went back and forth. Both teams started getting chippie and deserved yellow cards. NKU really started pressuring towards the end of the game and the momentum was in their favor. 1 minute left in the game, NKU had a corner and ended up taking about 6 shots. The ball came out to XU and it was two on four defenders not including the goalie. Then a great thru ball, a shot, and a goal with 11 seconds left in the game. It took a second for everyone to realize what had happened. To be honest NKU outplayed XU most of the game and this one will haunt them.

I'd love to see the film on those last 20 seconds.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.
