Big Game James plays his final act at Cintas Center tomorrow, but there is much...MUCH more basketball in a Xavier uniform for this accomplished man. He's been a favorite since freshman year...never failing to respond to a tweet or any other message. Always positive, always team oriented, willing to wait for his moment...and those moments have arrived.

Jimmy the Chin will be a hero of the Dance. Book it. And Thanks for the 4 years of tireless dedication and effort, J!!

What great young men to be out in the world representing the program and the University.

So, how long will it be before a conversation about Greg Christopher being wooed by other programs and the name James Farr coming up as a possible replacement?

Just read an article on ESPN and saw this quote about Farr.

Farr led the way there, too, with 15 rebounds. He's still mostly a blunt-force object who lacks a lot of touch on his shots, but he's a load to handle when he posts up or sets a bludgeoning screen.

No touch? I'm not sure who this guy is watching.

    A MAN among boys. Again.

A fitting choice to lead an epic Tourney run!

With a quote like that, I'm not even going to watch it.

This will be known in Xavier lore as The James Farr Tourney

Tonight was validation of everything he worked on this offseason and in practice -- do the dirty work down low, play with your back to the basket, and fight for every rebound. All credit to James, but massive credit to the staff for getting him to buy in to his new role.

The Xavier Way extends far beyond just winning basketball games and championships, IMHO. It's much more than just teaching kids the right way to play the game or how to excel on the court. Xavier is a special place for all the athletes and all the students. James Farr, Jason Love, Matt Stainbrook, etc. are more visible examples of what happens everyday on the Xavier campus.....the journey from child to adult. I for one will miss watching one James Farr wear the Xavier uniform, but I can tell you that I believe with my whole heart that he, and all the others, will continue to make be proud to be a Xavier grad and supporter, long after their playing careers are over.
I so freakin agree with this.
