    Jimmy Carter

I have to admit that I was pumped up when we were up 30 up and the FatHead Jimmy Carter was bobbling around. I almost lost my shyt laughing in joy. What a joyous occasion.

We ran them out of the gym, and in doing so also taunted them with JIMMY CARTER!

I loved the way that ESPN not only showed JIMMY CARTER, but then they sought to explain it for everyone to enjoy.

For my Muskie Brethren, I would like to offer you all a robust JIMMY CARTER!!

I know some of the reasons why we won't play them. I won't argue that. If they insulted Chris Mack and his wife I think it is up to him and I respect his decision.

But it sure is fun beating them.

They are a pretty good team by the way, and I think that will end up being a quality victory.

Last time we played them before this I believe was a loss for us at UD Arena. I am so happy to replace that with today's result.

    Humpers! JIMMY CARTER!!!

    JIMMY CARTER!!!!

Yes! That loss always stuck in my craw, the same as the one where X got homered at Wright State in the conference tourney, way back when. They are going to have the opportunity to wipe that one clean, as well. I loved the Jimmy Carter head...but where were the Popes? Lord, this is fun!

Thank Ballyhoohoo's friend for the Jimmy Carter picture in the crowd. She is a great American. I loved how it was discussed and explained in detail to Dick Vitale.

Dayton fans hate any reference to Jimmy Carter, especially when it is at a neutral site game and has little to do with the actual game being played.

We have trimmed the overall series deficit to 9 games. Once we overtake the series lead, the ud faithful will have little to say about this "rivalry".

The person holding the sign is one of my good friends that does not post on this message board, even though she has a login. She is not pimpinthebox.

    Yes it is!!

I actually think I realized something about myself over the weekend. I think it feels great to get something and/or earn something that people who don't like you didn't want you to have. I LOVE that.

I also think it feels great to take something away from someone you don't like, and that doesn't like you.

I like being someone's Super Bowl. All relevant teams are the Super Bowl of another team that is way less relevant. I also love winning that game. I really do want this to be a regular thing. No other November game has ever generated this much internet buzz. They're an NIT/NCAA caliber team that lives to beat us, but that fails to do so 75 percent of the time. What's not to like about that??

If our domination of them in recent times didn't exist, I'd feel differently about the overall series record. BUT we have dominated them for the last two decades, so I could care less about the overall record. In fact, at my age and knowing what it was like in the 70's, I am tickled pink knowing that we own them now, that we play our home games in a much better facility now, and that we're lightyears ahead of them in terms of Tournament success.

So, with all that noted, I am perfectly content to put this thing in the deep freezer once and for all, ending it with a 29 point bludgeoning of them at Mickey's place. If we happen to see them in the Dance or again at some point at some November tournament in the future, we'll deal with them then. And, at the present pace - us in the Big East and them stuck in the A10, and with Archie leaving soon - any future game with them probably will only add to our win column against them.

You didn't understand it before when I tried to explain the idea of establishing overall competitive separation with UD. As a sports fan, you can want this game back on the books all you want and you can explain that here and on UDPride, but it isn't coming back any time soon as a scheduled game.

In 1981, the CD had not yet been invented. It wouldn't be for another year. VHS wasn't really a thing yet. I'm not sure if cassette tapes were either. If you walked into a music store, they'd actually be selling records. Phones were not cordless, and you actually had to dial them using a rotary dial. I believe phone operators were still a thing. Most TVs still had antennas. If you wanted to look at porn, you actually had to buy a magazine.

    It was a different world.

There is no 'what,' other than to build on what Snipe was saying.
