Wow I did not know the record for XU was as good as it was at the Gardens. I knew it was good but a 215-25 record in 17 years. Wow.

I still miss this place. If they do decide to tear it down, I really hope it gets a proper send off.

Love the Gardens! Always wished they would play one XU home game there every season just for the nostalgia.

Great article!! Now if you walk into the gardens you see lots of youth hockey games and both XU and UC call the venue home for their intercollegiate club ice hockey programs. They've been a great host to XU hockey over the past 7-8 years and I'd be sad to see the venue sold and torn down (if it can be sold).

That would be great. Make it the annual "Throwback" game with unis and all.
As a kid, I lived at that place. The back halls and stairwells were my playground during timeouts and halftime. I knew just where to stand to get a ball during the ball toss and I loved how the club room felt like it was a secret hideaway.

When I had my season tickets in the Garden's, I used go up side steps in corner to hop over the short wall to get to the secret men's bathroom. There was a metal folding chair always left on other side of the wall to help facilitate the hop over. That would be some type of hazard today. Anyone recall this? It was very convenient.
