Scary situation for Gates last night. Hopefully no underlying conditions.
Glad he's okay.

All the checks on him after the game indicated that he's fine, but I'm sure it was scary.

Whoa, didn't hear about that and I'm not far away. Praying it works out OK.

I was at the game, sitting behind the St. Francis bench, and it was indeed a scary sight.
It was very hot in the gym. Kaiser had just returned from a leg injury that kept him out for some time. The team just played a tough game the night before. Not sure if that combination played into him not being in top physical/game shape or not.
It was comforting to see him walk out with the team after halftime. He sat on the bench with an ice pack on the back of his neck. But he seemed to be OK. I sure hope everything works out for Kaiser. You guys got yourself a solid player and, more so, a solid person.
Hopes and Prayers with KG22.

I don't like the sound of that!
If I read it correctly, there was no contact involved.
Hands on knees at the free throw block and he grabs the back of his head and subs out!
Later he wobbles and collapses!!!
Heat exhaustion in the first qtr?
I certainly hope that is all it is - but wow…you have to wonder.I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I drink 2XS.

Hopefully it's something simple like the flu. Sounds scary, but we have no idea.

I don't have the real story, but his teammate and starting center Josh Coleman, was out sick, I think with the flu. And add that to the three things I stated in my post above (and it was very hot in the gym), and one can see 'heat exhaustion' as a reason.
Miller Grove, defending AAAAA state champs, were up big at half. No reason to bring Kaiser back. Even if the game was close, after what we witnessed, it would have been foolish to bring him back.
