Aren't we at -1 with our win at DePaul and our losses at Creighton and Providence?

Losses on the road and wins at home are zeros. Losses at home are -1 and wins on the road +1.

    +4 - Villanova (W @ Butler, W @ Seton Hall, W @ St. John's, W @ Marquette, W @ Georgetown, L vs. Creighton)

    -1 - DePaul (W @ Butler, L vs. Creighton, L vs. Xavier)
    -2 - Georgetown (W @ Butler, L vs. Seton Hall, L vs. Marquette, L vs. Villanova)
    -3 - Butler (W @ Seton Hall, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Georgetown, L vs. DePaul, L vs. St. John's)

    Thoughts:

Villanova is an impressive 5-0 on the road so far, although Xavier, Providence and Creighton still remain on the road. Except for DePaul, they've played every other midpack team on the road already.

Seton Hall is better than their record would indicate in conference play, although that Butler loss is really going to sting. Still, they're the only team to score a win at Providence at this point.

Providence started out with 5 of 7 games at home, and they did drop a game at Marquette last night. If they can't win against a DePaul team that has now hit the rails, their quest for an NCAA bid is going to become harder.

IMO if we can hold serve at home and win 3 of the bottom 4 road games (we've already won one) a 12-6 conference record would be sweet. I believe we could do better, but our road trips have been tough so far.
It's time for a bourbon on the rocks!

I'm a bit worried about being pulled down into the pack of 3,4,5,6....need to win out at home and steal a few on the road...otherwise it could get ugly.

    Updated home/away splits:

    +5 - Villanova (W @ Butler, W @ Seton Hall, W @ St. John's, W @ Marquette, W @ Georgetown, W @ DePaul, L vs. Creighton)
    +3 - Creighton (W @ Seton Hall, W @ DePaul, W @ Villanova)
    +1 - Xavier (W @ DePaul, W @ Butler, L vs. Seton Hall)
    +1 - Marquette (W @ Georgetown, W @ Seton Hall, L vs. Villanova)
    0 - Providence (W @ St. John's, W @ DePaul, L vs. Seton Hall, L vs. St. John's)
    0 - St. John's (W @ Butler, W @ Providence, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Providence)
    -1 - Georgetown (W @ Butler, W @ DePaul, L vs. Seton Hall, L vs. Marquette, L vs. Villanova)
    -1 - Seton Hall (W @ Providence, W @ Georgetown, W @ Xavier, L vs. Creighton, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Butler, L vs. Marquette)
    -4 - DePaul (W @ Butler, L vs. Creighton, L vs. Xavier, L vs. Providence, L vs. Georgetown, L vs. Villanova)
    -4 - Butler (W @ Seton Hall, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Georgetown, L vs. DePaul, L vs. St. John's, L vs. Xavier)

Both St. John's and Marquette have been moving upward of late - a win Saturday would begin to give Xavier some separation from the 6-team middle of the pack. The league now has 3 clearly defined tiers at the top, middle and bottom.

    Updated through Wednesday:

    +6 - Villanova (W @ Butler, W @ Seton Hall, W @ St. John's, W @ Marquette, W @ Georgetown, W @ DePaul, W @ Providence, L vs. Creighton)
    +5 - Creighton (W @ Seton Hall, W @ DePaul, W @ Villanova, W @ Butler, W @ Marquette)
    +1 - Xavier (W @ DePaul, W @ Butler, L vs. Seton Hall)
    +1 - St. John's (W @ Butler, W @ Providence, W @ Seton Hall, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Providence)
    0 - Marquette (W @ Georgetown, W @ Seton Hall, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Creighton)
    -1 - Providence (W @ St. John's, W @ DePaul, L vs. Seton Hall, L vs. St. John's, L vs. Villanova)
    -1 - Georgetown (W @ Butler, W @ DePaul, L vs. Seton Hall, L vs. Marquette, L vs. Villanova)
    -2 - Seton Hall (W @ Providence, W @ Georgetown, W @ Xavier, L vs. Creighton, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Butler, L vs. Marquette, L vs. St. John's)
    -4 - DePaul (W @ Butler, L vs. Creighton, L vs. Xavier, L vs. Providence, L vs. Georgetown, L vs. Villanova)
    -5 - Butler (W @ Seton Hall, L vs. Villanova, L vs. Georgetown, L vs. DePaul, L vs. St. John's, L vs. Xavier, L vs. Creighton)

Villanova finishes the season with 4 of 5 games at home; their only road game remaining is at Cintas. Creighton still has to go to Xavier and Georgetown, so there is still a chance Nova could get the #1 seed for the Big East Tournament.

Nobody has been able to beat both Villanova and Creighton at home; if Xavier can manage to pull it off, they would have a good shot at the #3 seed.

I'd be thrilled (thrilled!) with getting 2 of 3 at G'town, SJU and SHU and splitting the two home games against top 10 teams. There's a pretty good shot that would net the #3 seed as well (possibly #4).

Ummm....yeah. I'd be quite satisfied with that result.
