    Tweets you DON'T Love

I thought we already had a thread for this but I can't find it in cyberspace..so here we go.

@XavierTickets: Get your Lower Level Holiday Pack today! Buy 2 games, get 1 FREE. That's 3 games for $80. Buy now"

Seeing a number of empty lower level seats is telling me that some people did not renew their licenses. Plus, the last two games the attendance has been about 1,000 below capacity and XU is promoting that "move down" app.

    Do not like.

The crowd on Saturday was about as bad as I can remember. We had more people at the Garner Webb game.

We might not have had 7000 actual people in the seats.

I'm pissed cause I paid full price for a 4 Pack upstairs...now this comes out. I would say the masterful performance in Atlantis has caused usual ticket buyers to say " Screw it, I'll wait for some bargin promo".

I think the loss to Iowa took the wind out of the sails. We win that game, we're likely in the Finals and likely looking at an 8-1 record, with great feelings going into the final phase of non-conference. With going 0-3, you can tell the fan base is thinking "another average year", and "it's time to just throw the freshman out here to let them learn"....not a good place to be with your fan base, and honestly, some may have started to lose faith.

The next month is big for this team. If they lay an egg in the next month, conference season may be brutal, and we may be looking at .500 for the year. But confidence is a huge factor, and this team has the potential to be good...but there's two ways potential can go...and it can be veered off course very quickly.

It's going to be real interesting to see how attendance looks for the shootout.

It'll be embarrassing if we are outnumbered again, but I fear/expect that will be the case.

In a neutral site venue that holds that many people, we're always going to be outnumbered...we are more screwed by the move to a neutral site, and both fan bases know it. Home and home....or not at all.

Um, the arena holds 17,500 and we get half the tix so the fact we are outnumbered shouldn't matter. Last year it wasn't that UC brought more than 8700 it was that we brought significantly less.

I don't care what the circumstances are we ought to be able to get 8700 people to show up.

I could understand any walk-up types being scared off by the weather but even the season ticket holders stayed away.

I think it's a bit ominous, although it seems anecdotally like attendance is off this year a lot of places. Even Duke had a bunch of empty seats for one of their early-season gimmes. Certainly the X program has taken some hits in the last 24 months.

The problem here is if Xavier willingly scarfs up the 8700 allotted tickets, what's the incentive to come back on campus?

I don't expect that to happen. We didn't scarf them up last year, and it would be surprising to see it again this year.

If they want to fill the place, make the ticket part of the season ticket package. I know a lot of season ticket holders that spend big bucks on their seats, but aren't willing to spend an extra $75 per seat to watch a game at US Bank. If our season ticket base is 8700 people, the only reason to NOT include in the season ticket package is more money.

But more money for who? The Freedom Center? That place should have been turned into a casino years ago.

It will be interesting to see what they do after this season. The game drew over 14k last year, and will likely do about the same this year. I don't know how the revenue works, but it seems the game would be more profitable to both schools to have it on their own campuses.
