I'll be in Vegas for Friday's action. That TV situation may be just screwed up enough that I won't even be able to catch Xavier in a Vegas sportsbook!

Soon, very soon. But no one is gong to pre-empt the excitement or create controversy at the venues of the Conference Tournaments. That would really be a cheap shot on the way out. I would guess the NY media will press for info at the Big East Tournament, and there may be "unofficial" leaks, but nothing will come from XU until probably later in the NCAA Tournament or after.
It's a done deal. No worries."I Got CHAMPIONS in that Lockerroom!" -Stanley Burrell

In the past few seasons, that's meant Fox Sports Ohio when it comes to us. In Cleveland the issue has been the MAC tourney also being carried by FSO, but that's not a conflict since SportsTime Ohio now has the MAC.
There's a Cavs game on Friday so that means the main FSO channel is out. Maybe they'll pick it up on the alternate? The other option is obviously TWC Sportschannel, which hopefully won't be the case. (Can you ask your contact at FSO about this, MOR?)
Quarterfinals on Friday will however be streamed online by the A10 - http://www.atlantic10.com/sports/m-b...030513aaa.html
Tournament Central - http://www.atlantic10.com/championsh...skbl-2013.html
It's really confusing being on four different networks, and thankfully this should be changed starting next season.

Well, at least if they are offering free streaming, that's something.
If FSO is the provider, it should be on the alternate, but I just don't know how this Time Warner Cable Public Access powered by mice treadmills comes into play. Or, it should be on FSO Cincinnati, which I get, but there are no Friday listings up yet.Last edited by Masterofreality; 03-10-2013 at 01:37 PM.

Off the TV topic, VCU got rolled in the second half by Temple. That would have knocked XU out of a bye anyway.
I really think that the record and positioning in the standings of this XU team is accurate as to the true expectations. I had 16 regular season wins as a prediction and somewhere in the middle of the A10 pack. We slightly exceeded at 17 wins and #7 vs a media preseason prediction of 9th. We also kept Jimmy Carter alive and finished higher than the dump. We still have a chance to do special things and should make an NIT with a 77 RPI.
If this is the worst year that we have to ever experience again, it's a damn site better than that school up norh. The future is bright, although Georgetown and Marquette, who share the BE title with Louisviille, lose basically nothing from this year's roster. We'll have to gear up to compete with those guys."I Got CHAMPIONS in that Lockerroom!" -Stanley Burrell

That's right - had Xavier won last night, they'd be a #5 seed right now facing UD in the 1st round. That would have been draining going into a possible matchup with La Salle in the quarters. Butler may have done Xavier a favor by winning last night.
Saint Joe's isn't a favorable matchup either, but they don't have nearly the stones that X does this year.

Xavier will play a 1st round A-10 Champ. Game for only the 3rd time in 13 yrs; last 2 times? XU's last 2 A-10 tourney titles: 2004 and 2006
Anyone find any cheap airfare to NYC from the Cincinnati area?Live Action

By the way....
Creighton, who will be joining the Big East next year, loses their Pivot man Echenique, but really no body else. Doug McDermott is back for his senior year.

Expedia is showing approximately $550 from CVG to New York (also assumes a Sunday afternoon departure). It's also one of the rare times where it seems to be cheaper to fly out of CVG instead of Dayton or Columbus.
I just drove to Atlantic City last year, but I'm not going to be able to make the trip to Brooklyn this year.
