I'm out of the high school mix now and don't know all the new rules.

Since Patterson is already qualified, could he leave Brewster after the first semester and join XU for the second half of this season?

We have the need and the scholly available.

What worries me about Patterson is that he already passed up on an opportunity to play for X once. My understanding is that after he was denied entry to IU he was still fully cleared and could have joined XU immediately for this year. Given our guard/wing situation he would have had a chance to play solid minutes this year. Instead he chose to go to Brewster.

His family wanted him to wait.

MoR, I'm not sure on the rule either but I would think that he CAN. He would just have to be enrolled by a certain date at XU and attending classes. The issue for Patterson is that he probably doesn't want to do that, not at X, and not at anywhere. He essentially loses the year in trade for half a season of playing time.
