This is the actual historic birthplace of Butler University. Quaint and charming isn't it. I think I some illegals live under that overpass. Butler has been moved since the original site, they don't all go there now, cept those filthy Mexicans. It is near college and 14th street. Every time I drive through Indianapolis I stop there and take a piss.
I piss all over Butler. That beats a fart in their general direction.

As a Butler fan, I have to say I enjoy this thread. Thanks for the laughs. Enjoy getting to play Butler while they are down right now (I'm still hoping it will be the game where things finally "click" for this young team, but odds are it won't be). We will be back for you with a much better team next season.

Forget pissing on Butler, I take massive dumps on them. Forget the fact that I have friends who went there (sad day), I still hate those tools.
I hope they fixed their clocks the proper way and I'm glad they found out what that sort of hosing felt like against Evansville. Doesn't feel so great when it's done to you, does it? I did not say anything about Xavier dropping off in talent next year. I never said anything negative about Xavier (I know you hate Butler fans, but I'm not here to bait). I said Butler will be much better next season, and they should be. The young players should see quite a bit of improvement with all of the playing time they are getting this year and then transfer Clarke will be eligible next year to fill a major hole (perimeter shooting) plus another great shooter/scorer in freshman Dunham. Only player we lose is Nored, who isn't that big of a loss. Before the year most predictions from the national level were that Butler would kind of drop off the national stage this year but then be right back on it for 2012.

Ok this bolded part is hilarious to me.
Disclaimer: I know you're new to this board and you had nothing to do with the conversations (read:dumbest assertions ever) I'm about to reference.
Right about this time last year we had some of your fine brethren on this here board extolling the virtues of Nored and Mack. Specifically, with regards to Nored, they were waxing poetic about how he was the best on-ball defender in the country. They went so far as to say that the reason Kyrie Irving had a good stat-line in NC game was solely because Nored was in foul trouble. They even implied that Mack/Nored was a better backcourt than Tu/Lyons. Now, one year removed from that conversation, Nored has been transformed into a "not that big of a loss." Again, I know you weren't a part of that troop, but the dichotomy between "best on-ball defender in the country" and "not that big of a loss" made me giggle.
Seriously though, I'm excited for the game against Georgi... err Georgetow... err Fresno Stat... err Gonzag... umm Mississippi Sta... or is it Yal... err University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüe... oh wait, I remember, the Butler Bulldogs. Sorry it's hard to keep track of which schools employ the use of such a unique mascot. :D"He's just saying that because he loses every year. If I got my butt kicked, I'd say the same thing."

Well, he is one of the best defenders in the country. Well, maybe I should say come tournament time he is one of the best defenders in the country, because early in the season always he seems to overplay everything and go for steals and get out of position. I think once he gets put on elite level guards he focuses on just shutting them down instead of gambling on helpside and then he becomes that great defender.
But anyways, the problem is he is awful on offense. Absolutely pathetic. I cringe every time he tries to do anything with the basketball. Past teams could get away with that when we had guys like Mack, Hayward, and Howard playing well. This team doesn't have players at that level (they have players that can get to that level, but they are a long ways away). And even with those types of players, a lot of fans were calling for Nored to be benched last season, and then as soon as he was we went on our long winning streak.
Also, you may remember him costing Butler the Xavier game last year. I believe he missed 2 free throws that would have given us the lead before the final possession (or maybe a front end of a 1-1? I'm going off of memory, one I've tried to forget). Then he committed a foul 30 feet from the basket.
Ideally he is a good specialist and leader off the bench. I'm not trying to say he isn't a useful player, because he is. And he did play a big part in 2 final four runs. But when that is the only player you are losing from one season to the next that is pretty good. Especially when he is essentially being replaced by someone who was 2nd team All-SEC as a junior last year.Last edited by butler312; 12-07-2011 at 07:23 AM.

12-06-2011, 01:39 PM #29"He's a little bit ball-dominant, he needs to have the ball in his hands, and he's not a good shooter." Ball-dominant … isn't that a nice way of calling someone a ball hog? Where is my Jay Bilas Thesaurus?
