Snow is a journalist, even if his articles are split between insider and public information. So, he should be critiqued when he writes poorly, sometimes at the expense of the coherent flow of the article.

Good job bitching about bitching though!

Is it too much to ask of a guy that gets paid to write as his profession to have a basic grasp of writing?

That's almost like saying that a mason doesn't have to lay down sidewalks smoothly and according to local codes --- just as long as there's a bunch of concrete thrown down in the correct place.

These guys are doing their writing for a living. One might logically expect that they would at least want to do a good enough job at plying their trade that we amateurs have little or nothing left to criticize of the technical aspects of their work.

Yeah, when his "analysis" is that D Brown can't play the 4 at the college level (that he was a 3), it's neither fun nor informative. It's just shitty analysis.

Well......he did play more like a 6'9" 3. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the time Brown covered the opposing 3, and Anderson defended the opposing 4.

He was a combo forward for sure, but he could play the 4.

Bad writing is a pet peeve of mine. Not on a message board, or social media, or any other medium where it's become acceptable, but for "journalists." Snow definitely has good information and clearly has great sources, but he is way too shamelessly awful at writing. It's embarrassing. His job involves writing, and not in a small way. It's one thing for me to finish this post without proofreading, which I will, but it's a completely different thing to submit an article without doing so. If he is actually reading what he writes before submitting it, then he's just not very educated. If expecting a little more professionalism out of someone who many of us pay is wrong, then so be it.

Whenever I write something that is awful, it is most likely because I didn't slow down and reread the things I wrote.

Brian always has great information, but if you can't effectively communicate that information, what good is it?

Notice that I graded your work above. Are you sure you should be criticizing someone else's writing?

Having said this, I agree with all of you that B. Snow's writing needs some improvement, but people who live in glass houses probably should not throw rocks.

If their are any true english teachers on here, has it now become correct usage to use plural pronouns in a singular situation when the gender is not known? It has become common usage due to our feminine politically correct society, but has it become correct? This is one that makes my eyes and ears bleed! :(

Had to laugh at that one. Glass houses indeed.
