    New Music- Talk to Me!

Not new music…but had a shitty day and came home and poured a drink and listened to some music. These are two of the best live covers I’ve heard.

The Revivalists covering Forgot About Dre with the 12 year old kid from School Of Rock on lead guitar. The saxophone player who does Eminem is mind blowing.

Cover of Fleetwood Mac in Stern’s small studio. About perfect. And the violinist is a smoke show. I’m biased. The wife played violin and her dad was 1st chair violinist in the Cleveland Orchestra.

Nice on both! I probably saw your wife’s Dad play at Severence Hall numerous times.
And The Revivalists are underrated. Saw them at Red Rocks with Houndmouth in a sold out show. An amazing evening.

Old music that will talk for a long time.

    RIP Jerry Lee
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

Agreed, though I have to admit that I thought he was already dead.

Would have been a great show to see! Cherish the legends since there is very little good new stuff out it seems.

I’ve only purchased one new album this year: that from a 55 year old band that still rocks with 78 year old Mick Box on lead guitar:

    Uriah Heep “Chaos and Color”.

    It’s awesome.

But looking forward to new Revivalists soon.

Went to a show at the fabulous Cleveland Agora last week.
Coheed & Cambria blew me away. What freaking energy!!
Deafheaven the opening act was damn good too. I’ve purchased 5 vinyls in the last week between the two bands!

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds album Council Skies was the best new music that I heard this year. I could not get enough of it, multiple standout tracks (esp. Easy Now & Pretty Boy). It was far beyond anything he has done post-Oasis. Extremely well-produced, bringing in orchestration and backup singers, it reminds me of Electric Light Orchestra at its best, especially the version that Jeff Lynne has been touring the past decade. Cool bonus track version of Live Forever also.
