Amber Grey at the Dayton Regionals

I was at the Dayton Regionals this weekend (We were that hopeful that we went ahead and bought tickets in January. Worse case - we'd see fine basketball, which we did). In between the games on Saturday, we noticed Amber Grey, proudly sporting her X gear. But what struck me was the reaction of the Tennessee fans. As she walked the concourse, she was stopped every few steps by someone to shake her hand or offer a word. That gave me warm fuzzies for Volunteer nation; they not only recognized her but were obviously happy to see her healthy and doing well. The same was true for members of the Lady Vol squad and coaching staff that she encountered after their win.

I suspect Amber made a very strong impression in her short time down there. My daughter played AAU ball with her way back when and you could tell she was one of those kids then. Bubbly personality, easy to approach, and naturally drew people to her.
Look forward to seeing her progress in a Xavier uniform!
